Posted by bloggergal | | great american road trip | 0 comments »The families competing are:
THE COOTE FAMILY FROM LOCKPORT, ILLINOIS:
Keith (Dad), Jennifer (Mom), Cassidy, 12 and Jake, 9
Keith and Jennifer began as high school sweethearts. Their relationship withstood Keith's time overseas in the U.S. Marines Corps. Keith currently supports his family with his own carpentry work. Jennifer does it all – working during the day, going to school at night, coaching volleyball on the weekends. The couple's mantra is "anything for the kids," including high-energy Jake who, whether playing baseball, watching TV, or sitting in a classroom, makes his presence known. Cassidy, the athletic, academic princess gets what she wants, whenever she wants it.
THE FAVEREY FAMILY FROM LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK:
Lenny (Dad), Dee (Mom), Dylan, 15 and Ashley, 10
Lenny and Dee have been married for 24 years. Lenny, a Manhattan doorman, has held the same job for over two decades. A stickler for routine, he is very particular about having everything in its place. Dee, a special education teacher's aide, runs a tight ship -- and uses push-ups and sit-ups as her main form of "justice." Their daughter, Ashley, is a committed student, but definitely has a taste for the finer things. Her brother, Dylan, is a laid back musician who is happy to let Ashley be the scholar. He is the peacekeeper, with his sense of humor as his first line of defense. This family has never been in an RV.
THE KATZENBERG FAMILY WESTPORT, CONNECTICUT:
Marc (Dad), Hyleri (Mom), Sami, 15 and Andrew, 14
Marc and Hyleri recently fell in love. Having just formed a "Brady Bunch" family unit, this show will give them a chance to really get to know each other. Hyleri's daughter Sami, and Marc's son Andrew, quickly bonded over accusing the other of being high maintenance. The truth is, they all have a little "diva" in them. However, Marc and Hyleri are also active philanthropists and instill this in their kids. Sami is a natural entertainer who makes her voice heard. Andrew is a ladies' man who enjoys flirting. Each member of the family likes to be the center of attention and adores themselves -- and each other.
THE MONTGOMERY FAMILY FROM MONTCLAIR, CALIFORNIA:
Darius (Dad), Alecia (Mom), Darius Ross, 15 and Tylier, 11
Darius and Alecia have been married for over 15 years. They are a religious, family-oriented couple. Darius is an ex-U.S. Marine who runs a tight unit. Alecia is a pre-school teacher who is extremely competitive and out to win at all times. The couple has two sons, Darius Jr., a strong student and natural athlete involved in programs at Montclair College and UCLA. Younger brother Tylier will be a match for Darius some day. He is also an athlete and in the gifted program at school. Tylier aspires to be a judge or attorney.
THE POLLARD FAMILY FROM NEWTON, ALABAMA:
Ron (Dad), Amie (Mom), Aaron, 17 and Anslie, 12
The Pollards are a close-knit Southern family. Ron and Amie met in high school. Through many years of hard work and sacrifice, they have built their dream home near the beach. Ron is a homebuilder who loves fishing and hunting. Amie, a gregarious radio host, wears the pants in the family. They have two kids, Aaron and Anslie. Aaron plays varsity football and baseball and is on the gymnastics team "to meet girls." Anslie is the apple of her mother's eye and has several beauty pageant crowns in her collection. As a family, the Pollards love to hunt, watch NASCAR and watch college football.
THE RICO FAMILY FROM KATY, TEXAS:
Ricardo (Dad), Erica (Mom), Danielle, 13, and Ricky, 8
Erica owns her own advertising business and is dictator of her family. Ricardo, a spiritual man and the peacekeeper of the family, is also in the advertising business. The kids, Danielle and Ricky, love to play soccer, baseball and say they never lose -- because their mom won't let them. Ricky is a prankster and he loves to do impersonations of people. He also loves to read. Danielle follows in her father's more relaxed footsteps, but she's got her mother's genes and isn't afraid to use them.
THE DiSALVATORE FAMILY FROM YONKERS, NEW YORK:
Silvio (Dad), Amy (Mom), Mason, 16 and Blake, 13
Silvio and Amy have been married for over 20 years. Silvio, a stay-at-home dad, rocks a distinct '80s look. He is the driving force behind the loud East Coast Italian-American family. Amy, a medical insurance administrator, is a classic Italian mom who will do anything for her boys. Mason, the diplomat, is the only "normal" member of the outrageous family. With aspirations of becoming a lawyer, Mason gets his fair share of practice settling family disputes. Blake is a Silvio-in-training who has never been unplugged from his video games for more than three days.

Inside the Real Housewives of NJ Feud
Posted by bloggergal | | real housewives, reality tv gossip | 0 comments »
After weeks of mounting tension between Danielle Staub and sisters Caroline and Dina Manzo, all hell broke loose on the Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion show on June 25. Caroline accused Danielle of doing something so horrible, l she could never forgive her. Danielle blogged on BravoTV.com that all she’d done was “pass along a phone number to [Dina’s ex-husband] to contact the proper people,” but Jacqueline Laurita – who’s married to the sisters’ brother Chris – tells Life & Style exclusively that what Danielle did was far worse.
“I don’t think it was something as simple as giving a phone number out, but leave it to Danielle to try to downplay her whole dirty deed,” Jacqueline says. “She’s an angry, bitter person. She felt Dina rejected her, so she went out to destroy her!” While Jacqueline wouldn’t get into the specifics of the incident—claiming “innocent people” would get hurt—and insider tells Life & Style, “Danielle was trying to harm Dina by giving her ex-husband a phone number that might give him leverage in the custody of their daughter, Lexi.”
All this drama should make for an explosive second season, which, Life & Style reported exclusively, is set to start shooting in July. But Jacqueline says she refuses to do any scenes with the family nemesis. “I certainly won’t be filming with Danielle or wanting to talk about her. She’s a closed chapter in my life,” says Jacqueline, who welcomed son Nicholas on June 11. “I’d love to see more happy and fun family scenes than Danielle drama.”

American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi wed teacher-turned-general contractor Mike McCuddy on July 5 at 12:30 in the afternoon in Prospect Harbor, Maine. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter wore a Vera Wang gown for the small ceremony. The couple, who met when Mike, 34, built the house next to Kara's in Maine, got engaged in December. They exchanged vows at the United Methodist Church, across the street from her house, in front of about 30 guests.
"I feel great. What was most unbelievable about the experience was when I looked out at the church and saw all these people that were so important to me and Mike, who were there for us. It was pretty powerful. I was very emotional and I'm not somebody who breaks down and cries," Kara, 38, tells In Touch exclusively, adding that the weather even behaved. "It's been raining in Maine for 60 days. The only day that was nice was yesterday!"

Cruise will feature contestants from the weight-loss reality show “The Biggest Loser.”
MOORESVILLE, NC – MAY 1, 2009 Cruising for a Cause announces its inaugural weight-loss cruise which promotes wellness, exercise and a healthier lifestyle. The cruise will benefit Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, N.C., a camp which offers these children a chance to attend at no charge through generous donations. The cruise will feature boot camp-style workouts with some of the contestants featured on the hit reality show The Biggest Loser. There will also be an equally invigorating panel discussion, with a lively question-and-answer session and an inspiring story exchange. By hearing the before-during-and-after contestant stories, the cruise guests will be primed on what it takes to maintain a healthy lifestyle. “We’re also planning trips to restaurants in the different ports of call as well as aboard the ship,” says Becky Davis, Co-founder of Cruising for a Cause. “This way the cruise guests will benefit from tips and tricks for the healthiest way to eat out and how to navigate the buffets. Additionally, planned shore excursions will help guests learn how to incorporate workouts and remain active during their vacations.” The goal, Davis explains, is for guests to leave the ship and head back into their daily lives, taking what they’ve learned and applying it to make their lifestyles healthier. “We’re hoping once off the ship,” says Michael Consoli, Elite Cruise Counselor with Cruise Planners, “the guests will share what they’ve learned with others who struggle with their weight, inspiring others to embrace a healthier lifestyle as well.”
The weight-loss cruise will be aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Freedom of the Seas departing from Port Canaveral, Fla., heading to Coco Cay, Bahamas, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas and Phillipsburg, St. Maarten. The cruise departs March 14th, 2010 and returns March 21, 2010. “It’s the perfect holiday gift,” says Davis. “What a great way to prepare yourself for what is typically an over-indulgent time. Plus, a portion of the ticket price will help children with chronic illnesses achieve their dreams through the Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, N.C.”
To participate in the cruise, contact Michael Consoli of Cruise Planners at 800-913-7245 or visit www.cruisingforacause.org for more details. About Cruising for a Cause Cruising for a Cause was started by a group of friends dedicated to losing weight and living a healthier lifestyle.
Inspired by the hit show on NBC, The Biggest Loser, they sought a way to learn the proper way to order while eating out, how to prepare healthy meals at home, and how to confront things that were holding them back emotionally. Tying a charitable contribution to a personal goal was the ideal way to share with like-minded people while having fun for everyone involved.
DISCLAIMER: Cruising for a Cause is in no way affiliated with NBC, The Biggest Loser, Victory Junction, and/or Royal Caribbean International.

CBS INTRODUCES 12 NEW HOUSEGUESTS AND REVEALS A SURPRISE TWIST THAT EVERYONE CAN RELATE TO WHEN "BIG BROTHER" PREMIERES THURSDAY, JULY 9, ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK
The Houseguests Will Be Going Back to High School as They Are Divided into Memorable High School Cliques - Popular, Athletes, Brainiacs and Off-Beats
A Mystery 13th Houseguest Will Also Join the Game
House Guests To Compete in House That Has Been Transformed into Green, Eco-Friendly Living Machine
What group did you fit into in high school? That is the question 12 strangers will face on the season premiere of BIG BROTHER, Thursday, July 9 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
12 strangers will move into the Big Brother house and learn that they will be ‘kickin it old school' this summer, high school to be exact. The House Guests will be shocked to learn that they will be playing the game in one of four familiar high school cliques - popular, athletes, brainiacs and off beats. They will compete for food, safety from eviction and luxury prizes as part of their clique.
They will also be surprised to discover that a mystery 13th Houseguest is coming to the BIG BROTHER house, to join the game and give an advantage to one of the cliques.
"You may have graduated, but the truth is we never leave high school and this summer we are going to prove it," says Allison Grodner, Executive Producer of BIG BROTHER. "From the brains to the jocks to the off-beat, everyone will be able to identify to one of these cliques, giving the viewers a group to root for and against from the very beginning. The division will cause instant drama."

The houseguests will live and compete in a house that has been transformed into a mean, green, eco-friendly living machine. The interior walls of the house are covered with a reconstituted wood panel product made from re-claimed wood flakes. This eco-friendly material reduced the amount of new lumber used to build the BIG BROTHER house. For the first time ever, the Houseguests will be made fully aware of the amount of waste they create, and will be required to sort, recycle and place all food items in an outdoor manual compost center, as well as an indoor automatic composter. The Head of Household Suite feels like seaside in Big Sur, Calif., where actual driftwood hangs on the copper patina tinted walls while a working waterfall, using recycled water, trickles over stacked stone to serve as a headboard. Zebra wood columns (all faux wood) press into the room framing a contemporary window that overlooks the "surf."
Following the premiere on Thursday, July 9 (8:00 - 9:00 PM ET/PT), BIG BROTHER will be broadcast three nights weekly, beginning Sunday, July 12 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), Tuesday, July 14 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) and the LIVE eviction show, hosted by Julie Chen, beginning Thursday, July 16 (8:00-9:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT).

Posted by bloggergal | | there goes the neighborhood | 1 comments »In the Ultimate Social and Family Bonding Experiment, Eight Families in a Suburban Neighborhood Are Enclosed by a Massive 20-Foot Wall To Compete for the Grand Prize of $250,000
Matt Rogers ("American Idol," "Really Big Things") Hosts
THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD, a new seven episode reality-competition series, premieres Sunday, Aug. 9 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The series features eight families in a suburban neighborhood who are enclosed by a massive 20-foot wall as they compete in family-friendly games for the grand prize of $250,000.
In what promises to be the ultimate social and family bonding experiment, this neighborhood will be cut off from the outside world as it becomes family vs. family in a competition to win upgrades for their lives and their homes. With virtually no electricity and no ability to text-message, watch television or surf the Internet, these families will be forced to reconnect and work together as a team. For the duration of the competition, the eight homes will be surrounded by the daunting wall with no way in or out. Each week, another family will be voted out of the game until one victorious group remains to claim the $250,000 grand prize.
"This show is truly a social experiment," says executive producer Mike Fleiss. "We've never seen anything like it before. An entire neighborhood trapped behind a giant wall. It's insane!"
THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD is produced by Next Entertainment and Jay Bienstock Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss ("The Bachelor," "High School Reunion") and Jay Bienstock ("The Apprentice") are the executive producers. Matt Rogers ("American Idol," "Really Big Things") is the host.
