The Second Season Of "The Real Housewives Of New York City" Premieres Tuesday, February 17 At 11 PM ET/PT

NEW YORK – January 5, 2009 – The much anticipated hit series "The Real Housewives of New York City" returns to the Big Apple for a second season of drama with everyone's favorite Manhattan ladies. Premiering after the finale of "The Real Housewives of Orange County," on Tuesday, February 17 at 11 p.m. ET/PT, Alex, Bethenny, Jill, Luann and Ramona, along with new cast member Kelly Killoren Bensimon – continue to juggle their careers and home lives with busy calendars packed with charity fund-raising galas, the social whirl of the Hamptons and nights on the New York social scene. Following the premiere, the series will then move to its regular Tuesdays at 10 p.m. timeslot on February 24.

"Our viewers really warmed up to these characters and their daily dramas in the first season, and there's a real thirst to find out what they'll do next," said Frances Berwick, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Bravo Media. "The immense growth Bravo has seen with the success of the Atlanta and Orange County franchises only adds to the upward momentum this series will hopefully see."

An up-close and personal look at a lifestyle where front row seats at Fashion Week, ritzy nightlives and Hamptons estates are an everyday occurrence, "The Real Housewives of New York City" follows six glamorous women as they balance motherhood, demanding careers and a fast-paced social calendar in the most exclusive areas of New York. The Real Housewives of New York City are:

· Alex McCord is a busy Manhattan career woman working at a fortune 500 retailing company in the visual merchandising world. Always on-the-go, she juggles being a mother to her two children, Francois and Johan, a wife to her devoted husband and constant sidekick Simon van Kempen, and a thriving social calendar. After an event-filled and somewhat drama-filled excursion to the Hamptons for the summer, as well as their annual trip to St. Bart's, the van Kempens return to the city and their active social life as one of the recognizable faces on the New York City scene. With both their boys in school, Alex and Simon begin a major home renovation project; stage two of what will help them complete their dream Brooklyn home.

· Bethenny Frankel is on the fast track and has firmly cemented herself as a "woman about town." Newly single, Bethenny is taking the Hamptons and Manhattan by storm, attending numerous social and charity events while managing both her burgeoning career as a natural foods chef and her line of baked goods, Bethenny Bakes. Somewhere in her busy schedule she found time to write a book on healthy living – "Naturally Thin: Unleash Your Skinnygirl & Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting" – that will come out in March, and a line of "SkinnyGirl" cocktails, out in May. Bethenny is also hot on the dating scene looking for "Mr. Right."

· Jill Zarin is still one of the busiest Housewives around, juggling a jam packed social calendar full of charity events and galas, preparing Allyson for college, and helping her husband Bobby run their fast-growing business Zarin Fabrics. When Ally heads to France to study for the summer, Jill is left with empty-nest syndrome and quickly immerses herself working for the "Help for Oprhans" charity and being the consummate hostess in their Hamptons home. After a somewhat drama-filled summer, she returns to Manhattan and wastes no time gathering all the other Housewives to help her friend Christina with a major charity event, "People Reaching Out," as well as a complete re-design of her entire Upper East Side apartment.

· Kelly Killoren Bensimon, the newest Housewife, is known as one of New York City's major tastemakers. Mother of two daughters, Killoren Bensimon is a model, equestrian, author, editor and designer. She recently created a line of costume jewelry and a collaboration of sweaters that were sold in major department stores nationwide. The former Editor of Elle Accessories, an ambassador for Wool Corp., she is also the face of Saks Fifth Avenue's "Wear" Campaign for spring 2009. In addition to her own reality show on Plum TV called "Behind the Hedges," she is a columnist for New York Post's Page Six Magazine. She has also published three books – "The Bikini Book," "American Style," and "In The Spirit of the Hamptons" – and donates a portion of her book proceeds to the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Killoren Bensimon splits her time between New York City and East Hampton.

· LuAnn de Lesseps, everyone's favorite Countess, spent an eventful summer in the Hamptons with her family. With live-in housekeeper Rosie out of the country for the summer, LuAnn balanced running a household with her two active children and still found time to participate in her active social life, where she attended numerous social events and was honored for her charity work at a major Hamptons affair. With daughter Victoria headed off to boarding school, LuAnn uses her free time to pursue being a writer, sharing with us her vast knowledge of manners from her experience as a Countess to ink a book deal on manners and etiquette, called "Class With The Countess," which will be out in April.

· Ramona Singer continues to be focused on her career running her business R.M.S. Fashions, as well as her successful line of jewelry, "True Faith." Always the entrepreneur, her newest business ventures including developing an anti-aging skin care line – Tru Renewal – and also a line of estate-like jewelry that will be sold on HSN in March and April. After traveling across the country for the summer with her tennis player husband Mario, who competed on the USTA circuit, Ramona has settled back into her busy Manhattan life packed with social obligations and running after 13-year-old daughter Avery, who is growing up right before her eyes. Always the fiery one, life with Ramona is never dull, as she continues to keep everyone in check with her "tell it like it is attitude."

Coming up next week on The Bachelor---"Episode 1302" - The 15 remaining bachelorettes move into their luxurious villa in Malibu, and the fairy tale begins. Two lucky women will get fabulous one-on-one dates: A private performance by R&B chartbuster Robin Thicke at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and a panoramic ride over Los Angeles in the Goodyear Blimp. However, the women are totally blindsided by an announcement that some of them won't have a date at all before Jason has his next rose ceremony. They might just have to steal some time with the handsome single dad. Finally, one woman makes a dramatic exit before the rose ceremony, on "The Bachelor," MONDAY, JANUARY 12 (8:00-9:30 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Jason pays an unannounced visit to the ladies' villa, attempting to catch the women off guard in order to find the right one to complete his family. A sexy pool party breaks out and the fun starts, as one woman after another seeks to lure him away for a few precious minutes. Shannon invites him for a suntan lotion rub-down, and then throws ice cubes to break up his conversation with another woman on the balcony. Lauren takes him to a bedroom for an intimate chat about life and love. But once a rose arrives for Jason to offer some lucky lady for the first one-one-one date, the temptresses begin to battle for real. The woman who charms the Bachelor with her fun approach to life captures the prize. As the envious group looks on, he whisks her away to the Walt Disney Concert Hall for an unforgettable night -- a VIP tour of the hall, a champagne toast and a performance by R& B superstar Robin Thicke. The couple enjoy a sexy slow dance and things get hot as they share the first kiss of the season.

Another sexy bachelorette receives an invitation to a gorgeous California beach to share oysters and champagne, but Jason is a bit reticent, worried that the woman might not be serious enough for him. But she opens up about her romantic past and then they fly together in the Goodyear Blimp over Los Angeles.

Jason surprises eight women with a stretch limo and a night on the town - Hollywood style. The ladies are treated to a high fashion shopping spree on Jason, as they attempt to out-strut one another, showing off their outfits. From there, it's on to a picturesque rooftop pool with a view of the Sunset Strip. The bachelorettes continue to show off for the Bachelor with an impromptu talent show, and one woman steals him away for a sexy kiss. Not to be outdone, another woman takes charge and gets a kiss of her own. Only one fortunate woman receives a rose at the end of the night and is safe for the next rose ceremony. However, five unlucky bachelorettes are shut out of the dates!

At the emotional and intense cocktail party, the women vie for Jason's attention - especially those who didn't get a date. The claws come out and tensions run high as two ladies clash about not getting enough time with the Bachelor. And to everyone's surprise, one bachelorette makes an outrageous exit in the middle of the party! At the nerve-wracking rose ceremony, Jason must decide which two women to send home, leaving 12 bachelorettes to stay in the race for his heart.

The 15 women are:
Erica, 25, an account executive from Monroe, CT
Jillian, 29, an interior designer from Peace River, Alberta, Canada
Kari, 27, an advertising executive from Lee's Summit, MO
Lauren, 27, a teacher from Marlboro, NJ
Lisa, 27, a public relations associate from Boise, ID

Just like Jeff Probst gave us his thoughts on Survivor each week ---Chris Harrison has decided to jump in and blog his thoughts about the new season of The Bachelor with Jason Mesnick.

Chris says,
"Once inside the party a couple girls left quite an impression. Shannon, if you have to tell a man you're not a stalker...well, guess what? Sharon, not a great idea to tell a man you quit your job just to meet him. Jillian "It's important to know what a man puts on his pork"...I like you a lot (by the way I'm a mustard, ketchup guy myself). To Renee and all other women out there who have them. Vision boards scare men and not in a good way. Molly gets the award for best steal of the night. When you see your man dancing with a hot Brazilian, put an end to it fast. Some things you didn't see in the first episode but were pretty darn funny (editing room floor, sorry). Dominique did pretty good impressions of all the girls. Ann did the entire flight attendant routine for Jason. Sharon used every letter in the alphabet to describe something good about Jason (hard to believe we didn't leave that in, huh?). As has become the norm, a few of the girls did their best Chris Harrison impersonation, some of them are pretty good."

Check out the entire blog by Harrison at EW.....there's also a deleted scene from last night's episode.

Dancing with the Stars professional dancers, Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, are reportedly engaged. People reported the newest reality tv star couple have been dating for almost six months--Maksim popped the question on New Year's Eve. Karina and Maksim started dating not long after Karina ended her relationship with former Dancing with the Stars contestant, Mario Lopez.

The couple have been participating in the Dancing with the Stars Tour. The new season of DWTS starts March 2009. Check out the Maksim and Karina dancing to "Bleeding Love" below:

"Episode 101" -- "True Beauty"-featured contestants include six gorgeous young women and four hot young men, premiering MONDAY, JANUARY 5 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.

The women are: Ashley Michaelson, a 21-year-old designer's assistant from Rochester, New York; Monique Santiago, a 21-year-old Go-Go dancer from Manhattan, New York; Julia Anderson, a 23-year-old magician's assistant from Dallas, Texas; Laura Leigh, a 21-year-old model from Staten Island, New York; Chelsea Bush, a 21-year old model/artist from Brentwood, Tennessee; and Hadiyyah-lah Fatimah Sa'id, a 23-year-old audio engineer from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Hosted and judged by Vanessa Minnillo (former host of "TRL" and "ET"), along with judges Cheryl Tiegs (America's first supermodel, currently designer and author) and Nole Marin ("America's Next Top Model" and fashion expert for E!, TV Guide, "The Tyra Banks Show"), the series will determine the "True Beauty" of six stunning females and four handsome males who will live together in a Los Angeles mansion as they undergo challenges to determine who is truly the most beautiful. The gorgeous contestants assume they're being judged solely on their outer appearance. They're only half right; outer beauty is one component the judges are looking for, but contestants are also being evaluated -- unbeknownst to them -- for their INNER beauty as well when they're put through scenarios and situations that require them to make moral decisions.

Each episode will showcase an outer beauty and an inner beauty challenge, during which contestants will be judged on everything from how well they perform in photo shoots to how well they respect their elders. The three judges will observe and critique the contestants' behavior and eliminate one person each week. Only after the elimination will the truth about the show be revealed to him/her, as they watch a video montage of their behavior captured by a hidden camera during the shoot. At the end of eight episodes, one winner will be declared, a person who is truly beautiful inside and out. That person will receive a cash prize and a spot in PEOPLE magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People issue.
